Editable Sight Word Game to Use All Year Long

Keep this sight word game in your back pocket!

We all know that sight words are foundational for students becoming fluent readers because they are the most common words they will read. For instance, children will see the words AND, THE, and TO thousands of times!  If you’re looking for a fun game to add to your sight word teaching repertoire, we have the perfect addition for you. As students race to reach the rainbow first in this editable sight word game, they will read, write, and spell their sight words along the way.

      Hello Gayla!,
No silly questions! I promise 🙂
We use old pieces from other board games, I can’t remember exactly which board game these were from, but I hope this helps!

  4. Hi Andtea,

Thank you so much for reaching out, I am sorry you are having trouble editing, we never want that.
    Here are a few tips:
Please make sure you have the most recent version of Adobe Reader Other, it is free and is the only reader that will ensure that our products and freebies download, can be edited, and print correctly.
You also want to be sure that you are working with the file that has been downloaded and saved to your computer – not the initial “preview file” that pops up. We often have customers trying to edit that file and it doesn’t work the same as Adobe Reader.

When you click the blue “Download Here” button, a pop-up should open. You can try checking to make sure your browser isn’t blocking pop-ups from the site or try using a different browser. Let me know if you’re not able to get the game!

  9. Excellent! My son loves it! How did you create your sight word list for the editable version? Did you just randomly add words?
    Thanks

    1. Sarah Biggs says:

      Hi Arlene,
Most of the words that are pre-filled on the game are from the first 100 Dolch words. Since it’s editable, you’ll be able to fill in any list of sight words that you’re currently working on with your son!
      Warmly,
Sarah // Playdough to Plato Team
