I’m embarrassed to admit it, but my stash of geoboards sat on the shelves for YEARS collecting dust. I didn’t really know how I could make them engaging for kids and I was too busy trying to keep up on my to do list to dive in and figure it out.
I soooo wish I had these challenge cards back then!
Just print them out and slide them into your STEM or literacy center to stretch kids’ design, engineering, and measurement skills. You can even have students draw mini models of their creations on the record sheet to practice scaling! It’s such an easy challenge for those kids who need to be pushed a little further.

These alphabet geoboard challenges build problem solving and design skills while working on geometry, counting, perimeter, angles, comparing, scaling AND letter recognition at the same time. They’re jam packed with learning!
Just print the cards on cardstock, cut them apart, and grab a geoboard and rubber band set. Kids will love building all 26 uppercase letters and their 26 lowercase pairs.
You can easily stretch the activity for kids who are ready for a challenge by giving them the set of harder challenges or simplify it for students who are new to geoboards by pulling out the easier one.
As a bonus, the set also includes record sheets and challenge worksheets for kids who are ready for a next step.
