Kids will love this playful Thanksgiving Write Around the Room activity! It’s a fun way to learn about the first Thanksgiving and introduce some holiday vocabulary.

Getting Ready
Prepping the write around the room activity was super simple!
I printed off the vocabulary words on cardstock, cut them out using my paper cutter and hid them around the room for students to find later.
Note: You can always laminate the cards if you want to use them year after year.
Then I ran off the vocabulary record sheet and writing activity in different colors so the kids could choose a pop of color if they wanted.
Viola! We were set.
Thanksgiving Write Around the Room
Since we had been reading about the history of the first Thanksgiving, I explained that we were going to work on a playful review.
Before they arrived, I’d hidden Thanksgiving cards around the room. Their job was to find them and then write each word next to the matching picture on their record sheet.
Fill in the Blank
When everyone was finished, it was time to practice a little penmanship and review the words one more time.
I passed out the First Thanksgiving writing activity.
There are two versions of the activity: one that was perfect for my littles who still needed to trace the words and a second blank version for my students who already had a handle on the vocabulary.
Our Write Around the Room and Fill in the Blank were such great ways to introduce Thanksgiving to my littles and work on important holiday vocabulary at the same time!
