My kids’ phonological awareness has been accelerated and strengthened by focusing on Sight Words and Phonological Awareness for the first few minutes of small group.

When we transitioned to guided reading, we were able to tie in these crucial abilities. While reading, students would actively search for sight words, discover rhymes they might alter by adding or removing letters, and segment and blend phrases.
