I FINALLY found a logical system that magically synthesizes everything so simply!!!! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?! Or at least all of my Google searches?! Homeschooling mom to my first grader (2nd year homeschooling) and have been researching a method to teach phonics to my reluctant son. It seems that there was a missing gap on every other website jumping from CVC to all the whacky English rules of long vowels, etc. but your system on the bottom of this post is gold! I have struggled for 2 years now on the order in which to teach phonics and now that I read the order of yours, I sit here scratching my head because it was so hard for me to put it together, nothing was working for us, but your way just….. works!!!! Great order, very straight forward, is not missing or jumping over anything, just golden!!!

I’ve recently had a 9yr old come into my care who has missed a LOT of schooling. He struggles to string letters together – I’m working with him on CVC & sight words – but a lot of the activities are aimed at a younger age group and he doesn’t get excited (cutting, pasting, colouring, etc) – he just wants to run round outside! He’ll start back at school in February which I’m sure will make a difference, but I wanted to try and get him caught up. His math is at a similar level (e.g.: when i say “what’s 8+4?” he’ll start at 1 on his fingers and count all the way up)
Any pointers??
