Q-tip Snowflake STEM Center
Making this print-and-play Q-tip STEM center was quick and easy!
To prep, I printed the snowflake tracing cards on cardstock for extra durability and cut them apart.
Then I grabbed a handful of Q-tips and slid them into a Ziploc bag.
That’s it. See?! I promised it was easy.

Playing the Q-tip STEM Center
A little while later, I pulled out the Q-tip bag and invited my 5-year-old to pick a card and start tracing it with Q-tips.
Since every snowflake is different in the real world, I made a variety of designs for my mini-engineer. There were easy ones like this cross….
And more challenging ones like this square and X combo.
He loved the hands-on game and I loved the grab-and-go fine motor activity.

Ooo! Printing these right away for Christmas activity advent calendar we’re putting together for my girls!
Yay!! I’m thrilled that the snowflake busy bag will come in handy!
Brilliant simple yet effective Christmas activity!
I’m super excited you’re a fan of the Q-tip snowflakes, Emma!!
I tried printing the q-tip snowflakes and the q-tip silhouette is smaller than a traditional q-tip. Has anyone else had this issue or is it possibly just an incorrect setting on my printer?
I’m sorry to hear that you’re having difficulty printing the snowflakes to scale, Tiffany. In case it helps, my printer’s an HP and the sizing was spot on.
Hope you’re having a good start to your week!

Could we use this printable and make up a handful of busy bags to donate to our local Children’s hospital? I don’t know what the terms of use are and didn’t want to do something I shouldn’t.
