Getting Ready
Prepping the center is a synch!
Simply cut along the lines to separate the cards. Then place them in a stack and grab your basket of base ten blocks.
Viola! You’re ready to go.
Build and Compare Numbers
The concept of the activity is simple but the impact packs a major punch!
Students pick up one card at a time and use their base ten blocks to build both of the numbers shown.
Then, looking closely at the base ten blocks, they decide what number is greater.
If kids are ready for a challenge, you can even have them write the matching math sentence on their record sheet!
The pack comes with 14 different sets so you can swap out the cards with fresh themes throughout the year.
