  1. The ‘ Make alphabet dinosaur fossils for boys to excavate’ sounds like fun

    1. I love these ideas but think it’s terrible that this is labelled for “boys”. My daughter pretends shes a super hero, loves dinosaurs, construction vehicles, and watches garbage and fire trucks in awe. Let’s teach our girls to be fierce strong leaders and that their passions are limitless.

      1. Hi Elyse,
Thanks for reaching out. I completely agree–many girls will love this list of fun ABC games too. The intention of the round up was it to be a jumping board for teachers and parents who are looking for motivating ways to give boys alphabet practice. It was in no way meant to be exclusive to boys only. ?

    1. Hi Kate! The roundup was created as inspiration for parents and teachers of boys. It’s not exclusive – just inspired by the things my own boys love most. I’m sure many girls will love the games too.

  2. Girls, of course, cannot play alphabet soup in the bathtub….what? Is it really necessary to gender-ize the ALPHABET for boys and for girls? The kids are freaking 2 or 3. Boo on that.

    1. Hi William! I completely agree–many girls will love this list of fun ABC games too. The roundup was intended to be a jumping board for teachers and parents who are looking for motivating ways to give boys alphabet practice. It was in no way meant to be exclusive to boys only. 🙂

  3. Hi Malia,
Thanks for the ideas – I have found myself in a class with only boys (first time ever) and so these different and interesting ideas will come in handy.
    Cheers!

  4. Acknowledging differences between the learning styles of many boys and many girls is no different than acknowledging there are differences between gifted learners and sports-mad children. Is there overlap? Yes. Education is not one-size-fits-all, but if you don’t acknowledge that there are some differences sometimes, the children will suffer the consequences.
