Cut the cards apart and lay them face down on a flat surface. That’s it!
In this game, children use Halloween-themed words to practice rhyming.
Player One will turn over two cards and say the names of the pictures she sees out loud. In this example, she would say, “house and bat.”
Since the words don’t end in the same sound, they do not rhyme so she would turn the cards back over and Player Two would have a turn.
If, however, Player One flipped over these two cards, she would say, “Hat and bat. They rhyme!” She would pick up both cards and add them to her “keep pile”. Then Player Two would take a turn.
When all of the cards have been claimed, players count the number of words they collected in their “Keep Pile”. The player with the most cards is the winner.
