Supplies
To prep, I first gathered together my supplies:
- 1 bulletin board-white board combination
- 3 magnetic clips
- 3 clipboards
- Pair of scissors
- Scotch® damage-free picture hanging strips
- Scotch® damage-free hooks
- 16 sheets of white printer paper
- Pen or Sharpie marker
- Scotch® Expressions Masking Tape – I used one roll of the Mint Mosaic pattern
- Scotch® Expressions Washi Tape – I used 2-3 rolls in Blue Weave, Funky Dots and Pink Quatrefoil
- Scotch™ PRO Thermal Laminator, TL-906
Making the Command Center
I tucked one end of the Scotch® Expressions Masking Tape in Mint Mosaic around the front edge of the bulletin board, covering the existing border.
Then I applied pressure to the tape with my fingers to ensure it adhered securely.
I continued covering the frame with the Expressions Masking Tape until it was completely masked.
TIP: Depending on the color of the frame’s border, you may need two layers of masking tape to completely conceal the frame.
TIP: If the tape hangs over the board, cut a small slit in each corner so that you can easily secure the tape to the edge of the frame.
The board was completely transformed in just a couple minutes.
To label the clipboards, I tore a one-inch strip of Scotch® Expressions Washi Tape and laid it on a flat surface. Then I used a pen to label “calendar,” “menu” and “homework”. I secured the tape to the clipboard.
Next, I printed the free family calendars {below} and slid them into a clipboard.
I printed the free meal-planning sheet {below} and laminated it for easy reuse using the Scotch™ PRO Thermal Laminator, TL-906. {The packaging instructions have really easy to follow directions.}
To decorate the magnetic clips, I tore off a one-inch strip of Scotch® Brand Expressions Washi Tape and wrapped it around the top of the magnetic clip. Then I tore off a second one-inch strip of washi tape and wrapped it below the first so the edges of the tape were touching.
I used my scissors to cut off any excess tape that may hang over the top of bottom of the magnetic clip.
My super helpful husband helped me hang the board on the wall by following the specific installation directions included in the set. Then we hung the three clipboards on the wall next to it using damage-free picture hanging strips {damage-free hooks would work too}.
Viola! Our sanity saving family command center was complete.

Hi, I am so excited to use your command center it is so cute. However, am I crazy I believe the 2015-2016 dates are incorrect. Didn’t know if it was for a different year. It says 2015 on the bottom of the page!!!
Brandy
Hooray!! I’m thrilled that the command center printables are helpful, Brandy! Since the pack was designed with back to school season in mind, I started the monthly calendar pages with August 2015 and continued through December 2016 so there are 16 months in all. Hope that clarifies the dates. 🙂
