5 Senses Activities for Kids!

Inside You’ll Find

The 5 senses unit starts with a set of memorable rhymes – one for each sense. Middle Brother (age 5) and Little Sister (age 3) agreed that the taste rhyme was their favorite. (It had them at “sweet treat”!)

(Sung to the tune of “Farmer in the Dell”.)

We taste with our mouth.

A treat that’s sweet.

Fruit that I eat.

We just *HAD* to try out the Mystery Bean activity next. The kids loved using their sense of taste to guess the flavor of each jelly bean.

Use your senses to taste each jellybean. Then circle the guesses that are correct!

Use your senses to identify salt vs. sugar!

Unfortunately, the salt and sugar labels had fallen off of our jars. (Oh no!) The kids had to use all 5 of their senses to figure out what jar held sugar and what one had salt. The kids were SO engaged!

My little scientists made an interactive 5 senses flap book…
