Five Little Bunnies Rhyme

Five Little Bunnies Rhyme

Activity for ages 1 to 5.

My twenty month old has a serious case of the ” I hate car rides!” so I’ve been pulling out all of my tricks to help make drives more bearable. My current go-to, guaranteed slam dunk is the rhyme “Five Little Bunnies”. It’s perfect for the Easter season and is a huge hit with my kids.

Since my boys love HEARING the words so much, I was excited to create a set of free printable bunny finger puppets they could use to act out the rhyme. The puppets give my boys valuable practice connecting to the silly story, and repeating the rhyme helps them begin comparing ending sounds in words – a skill they’ll use later when they’re learning how to read.

To join in the fun, cut out your own copy of the printable {available in the right hand column}.  Then, place one bunny on each finger like this:

Recite the words included in your packet:

Five little bunnies knocked on the door.

One hopped away

And then there were four.

Then bend one finger down like this:

5 Little Bunnies

Continue reciting the rhyme and bending down one finger after each verse until all of the bunnies have disappeared. That’s it! Pretty easy, huh?!

I hope your kids enjoy the activity as much as my boys do. And for more Easter-themed fun, try out our ABC Easter Egg Hunt and Stamp and check out our list of 15 educational Easter basket ideas for kids.
